The Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy for Education states: “By 2025, all education settings will have nominated a sustainability lead and put in place a climate action plan”.
Here you can find our climate action plan which sets out how we will follow a structured and strategic route in how we are acting toward, and educating about, sustainability.
At All Saints Church of England Primary School, our Climate Action Plan grows directly from our Christian values of Love, Hope, and Community, and from our mission “to inspire all children to be resilient, confident and curious learners and nurture their development to ensure every child can succeed and make a positive contribution in an ever-changing world.”
As a Church of England school, we understand Love as active care for God’s creation and for one another. Climate change affects people and environments across the world, often harming the most vulnerable first. By reducing our environmental impact and modelling sustainable choices, we demonstrate love through responsible stewardship and compassion in action. We teach children that caring for the planet is an expression of loving our global neighbours.
Our value of Hope calls us to look forward with confidence, believing that positive change is both possible and necessary. A Climate Action Plan embodies this hope by empowering pupils with knowledge and agency, showing them that their ideas, actions, and voices can help shape a better future. It provides opportunities for children to become curious, solution-focused learners who are prepared to face the challenges of an ever-changing world with resilience and optimism.
The value of Community reminds us that we flourish when we work together. Caring for the environment unites pupils, staff, families, the parish, and the wider community in a shared purpose.
Through collective action—whether improving biodiversity, reducing waste, or rethinking energy use—we strengthen our sense of belonging and show what can be achieved when every person plays their part. This aligns with our mission to nurture children who make a positive contribution both within the school community and far beyond it. By embedding environmental responsibility into the curriculum, daily routines, and whole-school culture, our Climate Action Plan ensures that children experience sustainability not as an added task but as a natural expression of who we are: a school rooted in Christian values, committed to excellence, and dedicated to preparing every child for a future where they can flourish and help others do the same
